Police have completed all security arrangements for processions and mourning sessions on account of Hazart Imran Hussain (ra)’s chehlum today.
City Police Officer Haidar Ashraf said that eight mourning processions would be taken out from different parts of the city. Twenty mourning sessions would be organised.
The main procession would be taken out from Jaffria Trust in Santpura colony. Mourners would culminate the procession at the Central Imam Bargah after passing through the main Douglaspura bazaar, Regal Chowk in Jhang Bazaar, Clock Tower Chowk, Katchery Bazaar, Gol Cloth Bazaar, Rail Bazaar, Aminpur Bazaar, Bhowana Bazaar, Narwala Chowk and GC University Chowk.
Separate processions would be taken out from Chak 51-JB Sajjadan, Chak 201 Chandian Talawan, Sadaat City in Chak Jhumra, and Chak 127-GB Madani Park, Chak 124-GB, Chak 56-GB and Chak 57-GB in Jaranwala.
The CPO said that the main Majlis-i-Chehlum would be held at Central Imam Bargah Jaffaria Trust.
Smaller sessions would be held at Imam Bargah Dar Abbasi Hussainia Chowk in Batala Colony, Imam Bargah Khadijatul Kubra in Batala Colony, Imam Bargah Haidar-i-Karrar in Batala Colony, Imam Bargah Al Mustafa Trust in Factory Area, Chak 263-RB in Dijkot, Chak 245-RB, Imam Bargah Bostan-i-Zahra in Peoples Colony, Imam Bargah Mohsin Afzal in Peoples Colony (for women), Ali Masjid Imam Bargah in Madina Town, Chak 215-RB in Awami Town, Dars-i-Aal-i-Muhammad on main Jaranwala Road, Qasr-i-Batool in Jaranwala, Street-2 Razabad in Jaranwala, Imam Bargah Lundianwala, Imam Bargah Dar Abbasi Gojra Road in Samundri, Chak 602-GB in Bahlak, Mauza Hassokay and Chak 501-GB ib Mamukanjan.
Six SPs, 14 DSPs, 21 inspectors, 89 sub inspectors, 132 assistant sub inspectors and 3,240 other police officials have been deputed for chehlum security.
He said 1,300 volunteers will also perform security duty at rooftops along procession routes.
He said 21 close circuit television cameras had been installed at sensitive points in the city. Mobile jammers, anti bomb devices and anti mine devices have also been arranged.
