RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) has started an investigation into the faulty marking of answer scripts that affected the results of dozens of students.

Earlier, a large number of SSC Part-I students, who were initially failed by the board were declared pass after their papers were rechecked.

RBISE spokesman Arslan Cheema told The Express Tribune that officials have been directed to tally the record of the award list and the final result cards for fixing the responsibility. “The RBISE chairman is in Lahore, but upon his arrival here, we will form an inquiry committee to fully investigate the matter,” he said .

The blunder has put the very integrity of the board at stake.

Tazeem Jafri, a senior teacher at the Government Boys High School Parial, Rawalpindi and a teacher to four students who passed with flying colours after initially receiving single digit mark totals, questioned the integrity of the entire result and demanded an impartial inquiry.
