BHAKKAR:
Feeder teachers in Bhakkar on Wednesday protested in front of the Bhakkar Press Club against the government’s decision to suspend 95 out of 172 teachers.
The teachers had been hired by the National Commission for Human Development (NCDH) during Musharaf’s tenure as temporary staff. The teachers said they had been hired at Rs1,200 per month.
They said the present government had increased their salaries to Rs8,000 on paper but they hadn’t received their salaries in 10 months. “Now more than half of the teachers have been suspended,” said a protester.
