LAHORE:
A petition challenging the contents of Serial- 3 (ii) in the nomination papers for members of national and provincial assemblies was moved in the Lahore High Court on Monday. Muhammad Naveed Yaseen moved the petition through Advocate Fahad Ahmed Siddiqui.
He said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had made 16 amendments to the nomination forms. One of those was changing the contents of Serial- 3 (ii) that read: I, my spouse, or any of my dependents or a business concern mainly owned by me or the aforesaid, is not in default in payment of government dues or utility charges.
Siddiqui said the clause previously read “has not been in default” instead of “is not in default”.
